The Problem

1 in 5 adults deal with a chronic mental illness each year, and nearly half of Australians experience a mental disorder during their lifetime¹.
UNDERINVESTMENT
Traditional pharmaceutical companies have deemphasized neuroscience programmes as a whole; the last ten years have seen a reported 70% decrease in psychiatric clinical research programs⁵.
Our Approach
THE PROMISE OF PSYCHEDELICS
Mounting evidence suggests that psychedelics will rewrite how we treat severe mental illness.
In the US, MDMA-assisted therapy will soon be approved as a treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Psilocybin, the active molecule in magic mushrooms, is currently being deployed alongside therapy in a number of clinical trials for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, addiction, and many other indications.
OUR APPROACH
Psylo is a drug development company focused on next generation psychedelics; we use computational chemistry to optimise the pharmacology of compounds inspired by psychedelics that exist in nature.
Our goal is to make broadly accessible medicines as improved treatments to currently available SSRI medications, using psychedelic molecules as the starting point.
